With Tambopata 3 days 2 nights Come enjoy the natural paradise where we offer the best conditions to observe and photograph jungle life thanks to the beautiful landscapes you can only find in the Amazon. Our tours are led by guides who love nature, and specialize in the flora and fauna of the jungle.
The Tambopata National Reserve is a natural wonder of Peru, located in the district of Madre de Dios (Mother of God). The reserve aims to preserve the jungle and the beautiful landscapes of one of the main rainforests in sub-tropical Peru. There are also processes of conservation that assure the use of sustainability in order to preserve the wildlife and incredible jungle vegetation.
An agent will greet you at the airport or bus station and transport you to the INKVALLE office to correspond registration. If you bring luggage, we suggest minimizing your bags, bringing only what you need.
Transport by car (4×4) to your destination (the Tambopata River bank) is about 2 hours. When you arrive, you´ll take a boat to the lodge in the Tambopata Amazon, settle in your room, and enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, you´ll canoe to Monkey Island located near the lodge, where you´ll walk and see different species of the capuchin monkey.
At night, you will look for caimans (a species of crocodile) in the Madre de Dios River from the canoe. It´s best if you have a headlamp or flashlight in order to see the caimans. You will also be able to see the capybara, the largest rodent in the world, weighing up to 60 kilos (132 lbs). Then you will return to eat dinner and rest for the night.
After you enjoy breakfast, we will walk 3.5 kilometers (2.2 miles) through the dense jungle towards the Sandoval Lake, one of the largest lakes in the Tambopata National Reserve and home to the piranha. Then we will row in boat while you observe
monkeys and birds of different species, and hopefully, a family of giant otters (almost 2 meters [6ft] long), in danger of extinction.
After the lake tour, you will return to the lodge to enjoy a typical lunch of the region. At night, we will go on a night walk to appreciate the vast diversity of different insects, amphibians, reptiles, and many other nocturnal animals. After, you will eat dinner and rest for the night.
After breakfast, we´ll go to the tree canopy, gaining 30 meters in elevation, where you can appreciate the jungle from up high. You´ll be able to see birds such as toucans, macaws, Montezuma oropendolas, tangaras, and many more. It will be an amazing experience.
In addition, you will zip line in the middle of the tree canopy, and then complete the challenge of crossing the Madre de Dios River by kayak on the way back, as we enjoy the sunset.
